Peneaus vannamei officially to be farmed in large scale in Vietnam

 According to the decision, Penaeus vannamei could be farmed in intensive cultivation at the approved facilities which meet food safety and hygiene conditions in conformation to Decision No. 02/2004/QĐ-BTS issued on 14th January 2004.

Provinces in the North and Center of the country can cultivate shrimp according to the demand of investors and their planning.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development requests local People’s Committees to introduce, and control Penaeus vannamei farming. Any facilities fails in production, distribution and quality control of both breeding and raw material shrimps will be strictly treated. Farmers, who let shrimp escape from ponds in surrounding waters and transmit diseases will also be fined.
