In the first six months of 2010, Minh Phu exported more than 7,600 metric tons of shrimp, valued at $79 million (€62 million), up 38.36 percent in volume and 35.41 percent in value over the same period of 2009.
The U.S. is the largest importer, accounting for 48.4 percent of the total export value, followed by Japan, South Korea, and EU.
In order to stabilize raw material supply, the Corp. has established the Minh Phu Organic Shrimp Farming Co.,Ltd with a charter capital of VND 20 billion ($1.02 million/€802,454).
In the short term, the new company will farm shrimp in compliance with the clean, friendly, and sustainable shrimp farming process in order to maintain environment balance, said Minh Phu.
So far, the shrimp output of the company has obtained international standards, and assured not being contaminated by any chemical or antibiotics. (Intrafish)
