MARD Minister visited Hungca Co’s plant and fish farm

(vasep.com.vn) Cao Duc Phat, Head of Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) had a visit to Hungca Company Limited (Hungca Co) and heard the company’s report on business results and its persistent difficulties in the first six months of 2012.

At the meeting, Tran Van Hung, Hungca Co’s Chairman recommended some measures, including financial assistance to build cold stores for fish products and extend of credit payment deadline, to help fish farmers and producers to get out of the tough time.

According to Mr. Hung, lack of money to build new cold store made fish processors hesitated to purchase fish from farmers who needed to sell their fish immediately to avoid higher production cost.

Mr. Phat also visited Hungca Co’s fish farm in Thanh Binh district, Dong Thap province. He appreciated business results gained by Ho Chi Minh City-based firm and its efforts to develop large-scale farming area to ensure raw material supply for processing.

Hungca Co focused on stabilizing fish supply and improving the production chain, providing jobs for thousands of local workers, as well as great support for fish farmers.

During the visit, MARD Minister also heard recommendations of farmers on seed breeding, raw pangasius price and bank credits access. He affirmed that MARD and relevant authorized agencies would work out measures to help localities and fish enterprises solve difficulties, stabilize production to develop pangasius industry.
