Long An harvested 11,807 MT shrimp in 2013
(vasep.com.vn) Aquaculture in Long An province has performed well because the quality of shrimp seed is ensured, sedimentation ponds are established and farmers obey farming techniques guided by experts.
In 2013, the province harvested 11,807.8 MT of brackishwater shrimp on the area of 5,805.9 hectares. In which the production of black tiger shrimp reached 1,148.9 MT on the area of 1,032.8 hectares and whiteleg shrimp output hit 10,658.9 MT on the area of 5,172 hectares.
Farmers can earn profit of VND70 – 200 million per hectare thanks to higher shrimp global demand in 2013.
