Khanh Sung Seafood to intensify shrimp export in Q.IV/2012
(vasep.com.vn) Between January and August 2012, Khanh Sung Co., Ltd (Khanh Sung Seafood) sold less shrimp products abroad, so the company aims to enhance its export of this item in the last quarter of this year, said Tran Van Tuan, Khanh Sung’s director.
Soc Trang-based firm plans to harvest its 65-hectares of farming area for 100 MT of shrimp in September and 200 MT in October. Khanh Sung Seafood breeds mostly whiteleg and black tiger shrimp, in which whiteleg shrimp accounted for 80 percent. The shrimp production meets 30 percent of raw material needs for processing.
Currently, Australian market has plentiful supply of shrimp from Thailand, which was sold at cheaper prices than Vietnamese products. Vietnam only shipped processed and cooked shrimp products to the country. In August 2012, Khanh Sung took a market research in Australia in order to find more shrimp buyers.
