Iran’s seafood exports tipped to hit $250 million

(Tehran Times) Iran plans to export as much as $250 million worth of fish and shrimp this year, which began on March 20, the deputy agriculture minister said.

“The fishery organization’s budget has increased by 20 percent compared to the year before,” Gholamreza Razzaqi said, the Mehr News Agency reported.

Some 4,000 tons of shrimp, valued at around $17 million, was exported last year to the UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Australia and Spain, he said adding that infrastructure has been developed to export 500 kilograms of caviar in this year.
