(vasep.com.vn) At the head office of My Thanh Shrimp Farmers Association in Soc Trang province, Soc Trang Seafood Development Assistance Fund was officially launched.
Development Assistance Fund is the first one established at the provincial level and sponsored by authorities, seafood enterprises and fish farmers.
These parties committed to contribute for Assistance Fund with over VND1 billion (including 8 million black tiger shrimp seed), Mr. Nguyen Van Nhiem – Chairman of My Thanh Shrimp Farmers Associations as well as the founder of the fund said.
The Fund will be used to establish and develop sustainable model of shrimp producing which can adapt to climate change, invite scientists from inside and outside of the country to transfer techniques for farmers and technical staffs in the province, support money for farmers whose shrimp production was lost to reproduce.
In the face of shrimp mortality leading loss to farmers, shortage of raw shrimp for processors in the past time, the foundation of Soc Trang Seafood Development Assistance Fund will help shrimp farmers, processors and banks avoid risks and overcome difficulties, Mr. Nguyen Tan Buu, Director of Soc Trang AgriBank added.
