(vasep.com.vn) According to Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), through June 2012, although seafood shipment was boosted to over US$2.9 billion, a huge range of seafood enterprises are struggling with challenges in business.
Therefore, till the end of the year, the most priority of the fisheries industry is to support processors to remain production and strengthen exports to reach yearly target, keep jobs for ten thousands workers, and contribute to stabilizing social security.
According to MARD, seafood exports play an important role in developing the whole agriculture industry, not only fetching a huge source of foreign currencies for the country but also creating jobs for local people in processing factories.
Therefore, it is necessary to support for the stable growth in seafood exports in the last months of the year. Accordingly, the Ministry submitted the government a package of VND9,000 billion to save enterprises and fish farmers in preferential interest rate loans. To shrimp, lost area was about 40,000 hectares, worth by VND5,500 billion.
