(vasep.com.vn) Between January and April 2013, Saota Foods Joint Stock Company (Fimex VN) has processed 605 MT of finished products and reached US$6 million of turnover.
This year, shrimp production is suffering damages due to disease spreading and a reduction of raw material from domestic supply for processing. However, Fimex VN still reported growth of 124 percent and 146 percent in production and turnover.
Besides, Soc Trang-based firm has harvested eight shrimp ponds in its farming area in Lien Tu, providing 35 MT of shrimp, worth VND1.5 billion. The company’s ponds are in renovation for the main farming season in 2013. Currently, shrimp has been stocked in 36 ponds Vinh Tan-based farms. After 50 days of farming, the first-stocked shrimp grows well and reaches the weight of 100 pieces per kilogram. The other 36 ponds are scheduled to be stocked in May 2013.
In April 26th, 2013, Fimex VN held its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders with the participation up to 82 percent. Ho Quoc Luc was voted to be the company’s Chairman and General Director.
