According to General Department of Viet Nam Customs, the country's goods exports to Australia in January 2014 reached US$294.47 million, up 4.1 percent from the previous month and 24.1 percent from the same period of 2013.
Major exported products included oil products, electronics, telephone handsets, seafood (mainly shrimp), machinery, equipments, cashew nuts, furniture, timber products and footwear.
Seafood exports to the market hit US$19.58 million, up 31.5 percent year on year.
Despite currently small export volume to Australia, exports from Vietnam to the market pose a lot of potentiality thanks to geographic proximity.
Besides, the free trade agreement between Australia and ASEAN, including Vietnam, will facilitate Vietnam's exports to the market in the future.
