Camimex to invest in three huge projects

(vasep.com.vn) Camau Frozen Seafood Processing Import Export Corporation will invest in three projects in 2012. The objective is to strengthen production of value-added products; developing the firm’s processing plant No.4; upgrade shrimp seed breading farm in Nam Can; and expand shrimp farming area in Kien Giang province.

This year, Ca Mau-based firm expects to produce 7,500 MT of finished shrimp, worth US$90 million, reaching VND1,850 billion of total net turnover, VND55 billion of profit before tax and VND44 billion of post-tax profit.

In 2011, Camimex earned total export value of US$56 million, completing only 93.5 percent of its yearly plan. The U.S. was the biggest market of Camimex’s shrimp products with a proportion of 34 percent, followed by the EU with 19 percent and Japan 11 percent.

In 2012, Camimex targets to produce disease-free shrimp, develop commercial shrimp farming areas, increase export revenue and build up brands for the firm’s export products. In addition, it continues to raise shrimp in close cooperation with other advanced extensive shrimp farms to ensure raw material for processing plants.
