Cam Ranh Seafoods: New shrimp processing plant opened

Mr. Vo Ngoc Hiep, General Director of Cam Ranh Seafoods, said along with upgrading and increasing capacity of his company’s processing plant located in Cam Thinh Dong, Cam Ranh town in the Central province of Khanh Hoa, he decided to invest VND120 billion in building a new seafood processing plant in the Northern province of Quang Ninh to meet increasing demand from worldwide well-known retailers such as H&N, IMS of the U.S., Seamark and Lyons Seafoods of the UK, and Seatraco of EU, etc.

After two years of construction, Quang Ninh Export Seafood Processing Plant came into full operation on August 15, 2009.

According to Mr. Hiep, whiteleg shrimp sources and the labour force available in Quang Ninh province enable the new plant to ensure a daily processing capacity of 50MT of shrimp material, and create jobs for about 1,200 workers, mostly local people.

The new processing plant, one of the largest seafood processing plants in the North, covers an area of 20,000 sq.m in Hai Yen commune, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province.
