(vasep.com.vn) Shrimp farmers in Ca Mau province are earning hundreds of millions VND per year from innovated extensive shrimp farming model with high productivity.
So far, many households in the locality have earned VND150 million per hectare per annum from the shrimp farming model. They are guided farming techniques and given investment capital by local authorities. Besides, local farmers can share experiences in shrimp farming through farming clubs or cooperatives.
Under the project of supporting farmers to develop their production implemented by the province, Quach Thanh Dong in 8 hamlet, Tri Luc commune, Thoi Binh district was supported 50 percent of fees for seed, feed and bioproducts. After three-month stocking on the area of nearly 3 hectares, he harvested more than 1.3 MT of shrimp count 32-40 pieces per kilogram and gained revenue of VND200 million.
With the application of modern technology in farming, shrimp farmers can lessen risks in their production and produce high quality products.
