At present, its main farmed species include pangasius, scampi in fresh water, black tiger shrimp and whiteleg shrimp in sea and brackish water; clam in coastal area. The issuance of catch certificate for seafood export has been well implemented. Currently, the whole province has 6 processing plants of export frozen seafood with total designed capacity of 60,000 tons/year. Pangasius processing plants are established material source for themselves (minimum 50% of the plant capacity). Plants have complied with technical standards such as HACCP, GMP, ISO, origin traceability…. In particular, now, there are 2 processing plants granted the certificate of MSC CoC for Ben Tre’s clam and the certificate of Global GAP for pangasius farming area of the plant.
