(vasep.com.vn) Administrative Council’s members of An Giang Fisheries Import and Export Joint Stock Company (Agifish) gathered in the Q.II/2013 meeting in preparation for the company’s 2013 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. They also took some decisions related to Agifish’s business plan in 2013.
The Administrative Council heard the report on the U.S. Department of Commerce’s final results of the eighth antidumping duty administrative review (POR8) on certain frozen fish fillets from Vietnam from 1 August 2010 to 31 July 2011. Agifish did not send pangasius products to the U.S. during that period; therefore, it still pays the duty of US$0.02 per kilogram imposed in POR7. An Giang-based firm plans to boost export to the U.S to gain market shares of companies that subjected to higher duty and are leaving this market.
In 2013, Agifish targets to export 33,000 MT of pangasius, including 2,200 MT of value-added products, to bring back US$110 million of revenue. Agifish’s workers and staff receive an average salary of VND4.5 million per person/per month.
