Agifish produced 8,000 MT of raw pangasius in Q.IV/2012
(vasep.com.vn) In September 2012, An Giang Fisheries Import and Export Joint Stock Company (Agifish) exported 9,374 MT of pangasius products to earn US$24.74 million. Fish export in the first nine months of this year reached 26,347 MT for total revenue of US$73.058 million. Agifish mainly sent products to the U.S., Australia and the EU, which accounted for 44.95 percent, 13.98 percent and 13.55 percent respectively.
The company said that demand from importing markets was quiet in the third quarter, but it made many efforts to reach good business results. Agifish expected to reach targets set in 2012. Currently, An Giang-based firm has upgraded its processing plants with modern technologies and equipments in order to ensure the hygiene and quality control in production chain. To the end of the year, Agifish continues to invest in developing the infrastructure of its factory F360.
Between January and September 2012, Agifish produced 1,922 MT of raw pangasius, valued VND41.923 billion. It plans to get an output of 8,000 MT of fish in the last quarter. Raw fish are now sold at a low price, while cost for feed still keeps increasing. This causes business troubles for fish farmers.
In Q.IV/2012, Agifish focuses on fulfilling its yearly targets. The company will also withdraw financial investment from SSI Vision Fund to inject in production and trading operations; improve the management of fish farming to assure high quality fish for processing plants.
