(seafood.vasep.com.vn) On December 2, 2021, Nam Viet Joint Stock Company (Navico) officially started construction of "Collagen peptide and gelatin processing factory" at Thot Not Industrial Park, Can Tho City.
This is a joint venture project between Navico and Amicogen, known as Korea's leading collagen peptide and gelatin (C&G) manufacturer with more than 21 years of experience in the production and processing of beauty products.
Amicogen & Navico joint venture sets the ambition to provide the first C&G value-added products to the Vietnamese market by 2022.
The factory was built in phase 1 with a total investment of nearly 6 million USD. The project covers an area of more than 9,600 m2 in Thot Not Industrial Park, Can Tho with a capacity of 800 tons of finished collagen and gelatin products per year, according to Korean standards.
With the current production capacity of more than 450 tons of fish material per day, Navico's processing plant can supply a huge amount of skin for collagen and gelatin production. Fresh fish skin costs around 0.5 USD/kg, if collagen production can reach 25-40 USD/kg.
Currently, ANV's profit structure includes the following segments: frozen pangasius for export, raw fish farming, aqua feed processing, value-added product processing, by-products and solar power. If there is more contribution from C&G factory, ANV's management expects the profit of phase 1 of C&G factory to be 1.5 million USD, contributing 10% of the group's profit.
