(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to the statistics of Vietnam customs, Vietnam surimi exports in July 2016 gained US$20.6 million, down 12.9% year on year. The figure in the first 7 months of the year estimated at US$135.6 million, down 16.6% from the same period last year.
Top 8 largest importers of Vietnam surimi in Jan-Jul 2016 including South Korea, ASEAN, Japan, EU, China and Hong Kong, Russia, Taiwan and the U.S. accounted for 98% of total surimi exports.
In the first 7 months of this year, Vietnam surimi exports to these markets posted a year-on-year fall, but for those to Japan, Russia and the U.S.
In July 2016, Vietnam surimi exports to South Korea showed the recovery, with the value of over US$7.6 million, up 3.5% compared to July 2015. However, the figure in Jan-Jul 2016 was US$44.5 million, down 12.2% year on year.
Meanwhile, the exports to ASEAN and Japan in July witnessed the drops of 27.1% and 2.1%, respectively compared to July 2015. Therefore, in the first 7 months of the year, the shipments to these 2 markets downed 34.6% and 11.2%, respectively year on year.
