(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietnam’s cephalopod exports in Apr 2018 recorded a slight decrease. However, thanks to the good growth in the previous three months, the total export value of this product in the first 4 months of this year increased by 12.5%, reaching nearly US$176 million.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) With favorable natural conditions, the marine product industry of Vietnam is growing rapidly and marine product export activities are being promoted. Marine product exports always account for more than 30% of total export value.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the first three months of 2018, the EU continued to stay as the third largest importer of Vietnam cephalopod. The export value of Vietnam cephalopod to the EU in this period reached US$17.3 million, a decrease of 13.5% over the same period of 2017.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In Jan-Mar 2018, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports reached US$127 million, up 18% over the same period in 2017.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Russia was put in top 9 leading buyers of Vietnam cephalopod with the impressive import growth. From the beginning of this year, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports of this item to the market increased continuously. The figure in the first three months of 2018 reached US$1 million, up 889% over the same period in 2017.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Last year, Vietnam’s cephalopod exports to Taiwan decreased. However, this year, Vietnam’s exports of this item to the market tend to increase continuously in the first months of 2018. Taiwan continues to be put in top 9 largest importers of Vietnam cephalopod.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Spain was the third largest buyer of Vietnam cephalopod in the EU, picking up 1.2% of the total export value of Vietnam cephalopod to markets. Sales to Spain maintained a good growth rate from 2017 up to now.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Following the growth momentum in 2017 and the first month of 2018, Vietnam's cephalopod exports in February 2018 rose by 18.8% to hit US$26.7 million. The figure in the first two months of 2018 was over US$78 million, up 24.7% over the same period of 2017.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In terms of value, Canada ranked the 17th out of top leading cephalopod importers in the world. Although imports into the country only took up 1.2% of the global cephalopod imports in value, those into Canada tended to increase from 2010 to 2016. The import value of cephalopod into the market increased from US$51.5 million in 2010 to US$79 million in 2016. In 2017, the import value into the country decreased by 70% compared to 2016 with US$23.4 million.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Following the growth momentum in 2017, Vietnam's cephalopod exports in the first month of 2018 rose by 28% to see US$51.3 million. In this month, Vietnam exported cephalopod to 37 markets in which the export value to the main markets all experienced the positive growth over the same period in 2017 except for the EU (down nearly 30%).

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In 2017, Japan's cephalopod imports decreased compared to 2016. The figure in 2017 only reached 59 thousand MT, worth by US$356.1 million, down 32% in volume and 41% in value over the same period in 2016.
