Vietnam capture output hit over 1,340 thousand MT

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Total capture production of Northern fishing season (2015-2016) by Vietnam reached 1,348 thousand MT, an increase of 3.93% from a year ago.

In which, marine catch hit 1,281 thousand MT, inland catch reached 67 thousand MT. Some provinces like Nghe An, Binh Dinh, Thai Binh, Kien Giang, Quang Binh, Soc Trang, Thanh Hoa, Bac Lieu, Ben Tre and Phu Yen reported high yield; Ninh Thuan posted the lowest catch output.

In terms of applying the fisheries policies under the Decree No.67 of the Government, as of Feb 2016, there were 126 new fishing vessels and 16 upgraded ships of the provinces of Binh Thuan, Nghe An, Kien Giang, Quang Ngai being launched and come into operation.

Capture production in the 2016 Southern fishing season expected to touch 1,576 thousand MT. In which, marine catch planned to reach 1,458 thousand MT, inland catch planned to hit 118,000 MT.
