(vasep.com.vn) According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Tuy, Deputy Director of the Tien Giang Fisheries Department, this will help improve the efficiency of offshore fishing. Eight GPS integrated communication kits with HF wave were given.
The province will support 38 communication kits to collaboratives from 2013 to 2015. The budget of VND 1 billion is from the fund for flood prevention and control, disaster search and rescue.
According to Tien Giang Fisheries Department, this will indirectly increase economic efficiency, creating favorable conditions to support production activities and prevent natural disasters as well as naval search and rescue.
There are currently 11 collectives with 60 vessels and 423 employees in Tien Giang. The province also have other 51 groups owning 435 vessels and 4,000 employees.
The model of cooperatives helps fishermen improve efficiency, ensures higher quality and price for fish while creating steady income for fishing vessel owners and sailors. Besides, these vessels are supportive in disaster rescues.
