Bangladesh desires to cooperate with Vietnam in pearl farming

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In the afternoon of March 16 2016, in Hanoi, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat has had a talk with Mr. Sayedul Hoque Muhammed, Minister of Fisheries and Livestock of Bangladesh.

The talk aims to strengthen the cooperation between Vietnam and Bangladesh in aquaculture, particularly in farming pearl mussels.

In the discussion, Mr. Muhammed Sayedul Hoque introduced about the potentials and advantages of Bangladesh in aquaculture sector. In particular, the country is looking forward to cooperating with Vietnam in pearl culturing. He wanted Vietnam to support Bangladesh in providing mussel seed and farming techniques.

Besides, Bangladesh side proposed to hire Vietnamese experts to Bangladesh in order to research the climate and environment for pearl farming.

Mr. Cao Duc Phat accepted Mr. Muhammed Sayedul Hoque’s suggestion and proposed that two sides need to have an agency to complete relevant procedures before signing the cooperation agreement.

On this occasion, Mr. Cao Duc Phat invited Bangladesh delegations to visit some successful pearl farms. Mr. Phat hoped that the visit of Bangladesh delegations to Vietnam will help enhance more and more the cooperative relation between two countries in aquaculture sector and livestock.
