Vietfish 2026 Domestic B2B Program: connecting supply and demand to bring high-quality Vietnamese seafood closer to local consumers

News 15:24 24/07/2026
(vasep.com.vn) As part of the Vietnam Fisheries International Exhibition (Vietfish 2026), the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), in collaboration with the Agency for Domestic Market Management and Development under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, will organize the Domestic Seafood Supply–Demand Matching Program on the morning of August 20, 2026, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City. The program aims to foster direct business connections between Vietnamese seafood producers and processors and domestic distributors, retailers, and foodservice channels.

This year's Domestic B2B Program comes at a time when Vietnam's domestic market is gaining increasing attention from seafood enterprises as a promising sales channel that complements exports while strengthening the presence of premium Vietnamese seafood on local dining tables. It offers an opportunity for seafood producers and processors to meet directly with supermarket chains, retail networks, specialty food stores, premium and healthy food retailers, frozen food distributors, food suppliers, foodservice operators, institutional catering providers, and other domestic buyers.

The highlight of the program is its pre-arranged one-on-one B2B matchmaking sessions, carefully organized by the event organizers to maximize efficiency by matching suppliers with buyers based on their specific business needs. Rather than engaging in general networking, participants will have the opportunity to discuss products, specifications, quality standards, production capacity, distribution policies, packaging requirements, cold-chain logistics, and long-term cooperation directly with potential partners.

In addition to the B2B meetings, the program will feature market updates on Vietnam's domestic seafood sector, insights into the needs of modern retail channels, and practical recommendations for suppliers. These sessions will help seafood companies better understand evolving consumer preferences, the requirements of modern retail systems, and the necessary adjustments in product development, packaging, branding, and after-sales services to succeed in the domestic market.

The program is also expected to include presentations from VASEP member companies that have successfully expanded into the domestic market, as well as the signing of memoranda of understanding (MOUs) or cooperation agreements where applicable. Outstanding seafood companies and distribution partners contributing to the growth of domestic seafood sales will also be recognized during the event.

Through this initiative, VASEP aims to create an effective platform connecting seafood suppliers with domestic buyers, bringing high-quality seafood, frozen products, convenient value-added products, and export-standard seafood closer to Vietnamese consumers. The program also provides businesses with valuable opportunities to introduce new products, expand distribution networks, strengthen brand recognition, and develop long-term strategies for the domestic market.
