(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Vietfish 2023's three days of bright and colorful experiences came to a conclusion with a lot of emotions and results that exceeded expectations, providing encouraging signs for seafood in the year-end time.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) On December 10, 2022 at the celebration of seafood export reaching 10 billion USD in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) announced the list of 30 excellent enterprises in 2022, in which there are 10 pangasius export enterprises.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) On October 20, 2022, Ms. Le Thi Tuyet Nhung – Director of Bac Lieu branch of Ca Mau Seafood Processing and Services JSC (CASES), a member company of the Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers Vietnam (VASEP) represented VASEP to present notebooks to propagandize against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing to students of Ganh Hao High School, Bac Lieu province.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) On June 22, 2022, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporter and Producer (VASEP) held the 2022 annual General conference among its members in Ho Chi Minh city with more than 250 attendees. The conference was very honored to had Mr. Le Minh Hoan, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh, the former Vietnam Deputy Minister of Fisheries, and also the Honorary President of VASEP; Mr. Tran Dinh Luan, the Director General of the Directorate of Fisheries; the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Ho Chi Minh City office; Mr.Nguyen Nhu Tiep, the Director of Nafiqad Department; Mr. Nhu Van Can, the Director of Aquaculture Department; representative of the Ministry of Home Affairs; representative of Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) In 2021, VASEP will continue its activities on the basis of joining hands with the local provinces and fishermen as well as implementing a program to support member enterprises to better fulfill their commitment against IUU fishing.

Despite facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, seafood exports last year were estimated at US$8.58 billion, the same as in 2019. The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEp) expects them to increase by 5 per cent to $8.8 billion this year aided by many positive factors.

The Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers said it plans several measures to help its members further penetrate the global supply chain and enable the fisheries sector to reach its export target of US$12 billion in 2025, 40 per cent higher than this year.

The European Commission (EC) has made positive assessment of Vietnam’s fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing following two inspections in the past over three years since EC imposed a “yellow card” on Vietnam’s export of aquatic products to Europe.
