Currently, marine product exports account for 35% of the country's total seafood export value.

In the past 3 years, Vietnam's cephalopod exports to China have tended to grow continuously. Export value in 2020 increased by nearly 61% compared to 2019. Japan is currently Vietnam's second largest single cephalopod export market, accounting for 21%.

However, thanks to high growth in January, Vietnam's export of cephalopod in the first 2 months of the year still reached over 67 million USD, up 2% over the same period last year.

This negative growth is due to the fact that February this year coincides with the Lunar New Year holiday, therefore the production, fishing and processing time is less than in February 2020. Thus, accumulated to the end of February 2021, seafood exports reached over 1 billion USD, up by 2.2%.
