(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Ca Mau province has set a target for total aquaculture production to reach 570,000 tons by 2030, the growth rate of aquaculture output to reach an average of 3.93%/year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) By the end of July 2021, Soc Trang province is leading in seafood export with US$570 million, accounting for 11.3% of Vietnam's total turnover. In which, shrimp exports accounted for 94% with 535 million USD, the rest were fish cakes, surimi, squid, octopus and other mollusks.

In the first 6 months of 2021, shrimp export turnover of Ca Mau province - a key seafood province in the Mekong Delta, is estimated at 400 million USD, up 16.6% over the same period in 2020. Forecast in 2021, shrimp export of the province reached over 1 billion USD.

(seafood.com.vn) According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Ca Mau province, export turnover of the province in the first 5 months of the year was estimated at 360.56 million USD, reaching 32.78% of the plan, up 19.25% over the same period of 2020. In which, seafood export is estimated at 331.82 million USD, equaling 31.78% of the plan, up 18.06% over the same period last year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Effectively promoting some existing shrimp farming models in the locality, Ca Mau province is focusing on developing super-intensive and intensive shrimp farming, developing shrimp-rice rotation and shrimp-forest farming according to internationally certified nurturing expansion guide.

The Cửu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Cà Mau plans to maintain its shrimp farming area at 280,000ha between 2021 and 2025, with an increased output.

A species of crab in Nam Can district and a fish sauce hot pot in the U Minh Forest in the southernmost province of Ca Mau have been listed among the Top 100 specialties in Vietnam in 2020-2021 by the Vietnam Record Organisation (Vietkings).
