Binh Dinh province: Fisheries production of June 2024 increased 2,9%

At the same time, it continues to effectively implement urgent solutions against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing and support policies for offshore fishermen according to regulations.

Accordingly, the total fisheries production in June 2024 is estimated at 29.849,3 tons, an increase of 2,9% (+847,4 tons) compared to the same period; the cumulative output in the first 6 months of 2024 is estimated at 146.445,2 tons, an increase of 2,9% (+4.161,2 tons) compared to the same period.

Regarding fishing output

In the first 6 months of 2024, weather and fishing grounds were favorable; most offshore and nearshore fishing vessels also achieved good production. The province currently has 4,862 fishing vessels operating, of which 3,394 are in offshore areas.

In key fishing grounds, the offshore fishing fleet operates effectively, especially in fisheries such as tuna longlining, purse seining, encircling nets, and squid jigging (harvesting species such as tuna, mackerel, scad, squid, black carp, sea catfish, etc.).

The fishing production is estimated at 139,865.5 tons, an increase of 2.9% (+3,978.7 tons); wild capture production is estimated at 138,340.7 tons, an increase of 2.9% (+3,932.8 tons), of which oceanic tuna production reached 7,537 tons, an increase of 2.7% (+195.4 tons).

Regarding aquaculture

The provincial competent agencies have deployed many suitable and effective aquaculture models to support people's effective aquaculture. Environmentally friendly aquaculture increasingly shows advantages, creating stable incomes, and good economic efficiency while ensuring sustainable development goals.

Aquaculture production is estimated at 6,579.7 tons, an increase of 2.9% (+182.4 tons), of which white-leg shrimp is estimated at 4,263.3 tons, an increase of 0.7% (+28.1 tons).
