Israel currently imported cephalopod from 7 countries around the world. In particular, Vietnam was currently the largest supplier of cephalopod to this market, followed by Taipei (China) and India. Imports from these countries accounted for 58.2%, 14.9% and 13.8% respectively in the first 7 months of this year.

Israel is considered as a potential market of Vietnam thanks to its market-oriented economy, which is growing well. Israeli consumers are increasingly interested in the quality and price of products. For frozen squid products, Vietnam has an advantage in this market with its large market share and competitive prices.

In the past 2 years, the average import price of frozen squid from Vietnam to Israel has fluctuated at over US$5.8/kg, while that from China ranged from US$6.5 to 8.6/kg, that from Thailand was over US$6.3/kg.
