Onigiri rice balls – ready to eat solution

Acknowledging the growing consumption trend towards instant food products from Asia, Vinh Hoan had launched a brand new product – the Pangasius Onigiri Rice Balls trio flavors in 2018. The product aims at modern consumers, for being not only nutritious but also reducing cooking time. The set offers a delicate blend of two culinary cultures – Japanese and Vietnamese.

Each 150-gram box is comprised of three 50-gram triangle Japanese rice balls filled with pangasius grilled in golden kabayaki sauce. The rice balls come in three styles, including traditional white rice, rice cooked with chopped carrots, and rice infused in spinach essense. The product is fully cooked and frozen under strictly controlled food safety conditions, to ensure its freshness after cooking for just one to two minutes in the microwave.

“With no preservatives and zero transfats, this healthful trio truly offers an exclusive grilled fish experience,” Vinh Hoan CEO Tam Nguyen said.

In April 2018, the Onigiri set made into the Finalist of Seafood Excellent Awards at Brussels, marking an impressive market launch.
